This microscopy photo enlargement captures Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer cells under 400x magnification brightfield microscopy.
Early detection is vital to a positive outcome. Cancer is something that effects many of us, and is a difficult subject for most people to discuss, but hopefully this enlargement can be seen in a positive light, and remind us all of the many diseases scientist strive to cure.
Cancer has many factors that contribute to its occurrence in the human body. These can be exposure to raidation, carcinogens like Vinly Chloride, Tobacco use, alcohol consumption, unhealthy diet, and air pollution to name a few.
A simplified explination of the mechanism of cancer is the malfunctioning of cells that have lost their ability to self regulate cell division and natural cell death (Apoptosis). In most cases this is due to damage to the regulatory components of DNA contained in the cell nucleus. Due to the genetic nature of this disease, certain types of cancer can also be inherited.
This microscopy photo enlargement gives a detailed and clear view of malfunctioning cells.
